Jason Evans of This Long Century presents two recent moving image works from Ayo Akingbade - plus a screening of Chantal Akerman's Family Business.

The program will be followed by a discussion between Evans and Akingbade.

A portrait of New York City at dusk. Windows of high-rise apartments, brownstones and bodegas illuminated like light boxes, offer a glimpse of neighbouring occupants. The accompanying audio combines ambient sounds of the city with excerpts from the artist’s diary written while working in the city.

A short about filmmaking, financing, acting, and why all of these things are, at heart, totally absurd.
