Filmmakers Pete Ohs and Sean Baker join in conversation to discuss moviemaking in the current landscape of cinema: their respective processes, the thinking behind them, and the ways they wish things could be.

Pete Ohs is a director, producer, writer, editor, and cinematographer. He has made five feature films in the past five years. His features include: Everything Beautiful Is Far Away, Youngstown, Jethica, Love And Work, The True Beauty of Being Bitten by a Tick, and Erupcja, which was named the second best film of 2026 thus far by Richard Brody at the New Yorker.

Sean Baker is an independent filmmaker and graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. His features include Take Out, Prince of Broadway, Starlet, Tangerine, The Florida Project, Red Rocket, and Anora, which won the 2024 Palme d’Or and Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Film Editing.
